David Olivant "Nothing Between Us"

Reception August 19th at 6pm!

“Nothing Between Us,” by David Olivant

Professor Emeritus of Art, California State University, Stanislaus.

Olivant is a native of Great Britain who earned a master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London and whose work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Delhi, and Dusseldorf, as well as numerous group shows around the country. Olivant’s work for this show consists of wall-mounted assemblages (Heteroglyphs) paired with works on paper (Retroglyphs) derived from the assemblages. Both bodies of work address issues of ultimate contact between self and other, and self and self through complex quasi-mythic narratives aimed at undermining complacent existential certainties.
